We are looking for dedicated family educators who want to work with children, youth, and their families in Stockholm County. The job involves providing support to families where parenting ability is impaired and where there is a need for pedagogical and practical support in everyday life.

The target group is children and youth aged 0–18 years and their parents. Parents may have difficulties such as mental health issues, neuropsychiatric diagnoses, or a combination of both, which affects their ability to fully meet the children's basic needs. The families have been assessed and deemed in need of interventions to strengthen parenting ability.

Requirements

At least two years of post-secondary education in social work, for example:

• Social educator/Treatment educator or treatment assistant
• Behavioral scientist
• Social worker

and/or

• Documented experience of working with families, children, and youth in supportive or therapeutic interventions.

About the role

As a family educator, you will work practically and pedagogically with families to strengthen parenting ability and create a more functional everyday life. The work primarily takes place in the family's home or in other everyday environments.

You provide support in situations where difficulties arise and guide parents and children in developing:

• functional routines and structure in everyday life
• strategies for parenting and interaction
• security and stability in the family situation

The work is based on an implementation plan with clear goals and is carried out in close collaboration with the family. Some documentation is included in the assignment.

We are looking for someone who is structured, relationship-building, and confident in working independently in families' home environments.

Employment and working hours

The position is a needs-based employment where working hours vary depending on the assignment. Interventions can take place on weekdays, evenings, and weekends and may last for longer periods.
